HUDSON AT 3 WEEKS

A few pics of Little Mac at 3 weeks old.

And Big Mac almost became a meal this week during a business trip out to California. While hiking through Sequoia National Park, this mama bear became a little too friendly!

Have no fear. Fayte is always ready to serve and protect! This is very "Sarah Palin" of us. She's quite a shot with the Red Ryder. She has to be to keep the squirrels away from our persimmon tree.

The fruit is starting to turn orange! Should be ripe by Thanksgiving.

LITTLE MAC 2 WEEKS OLD

Everyone keeps asking us to post more pictures. Unfortunately, most of the 1600 shots we've taken the last 2 weeks are of Hudson sleeping. The little guy doesn't really do much. He sleeps most of the day, only waking up to eat. Yet he's managed to burn through pack after pack of diapers! So far so good. He's a very mellow baby and rarely cries. He wakes up regularly at 1 AM and 5 AM to eat. Other than that, he lets us sleep. And we thought we were pretty blessed with Fayte! Hope it stays like this.

We took him to the doctor's this week and he's doing great. He loves tummy time and his neck's getting stronger each day. He's grown an inch and is packing on the pounds so quickly that our doctor had to measure him twice to be believe what she was seeing. This was a relief to us as Fayte had caught a virus last week and so quarantining the two worked out. It also made Fayte really appreciate her little brother when she was finally cleared to play with him. The two get along wonderfully and it's a joy seeing how entertained Fayte is by his little actions. Probably the sweetest thing Fayte's said about Hudson so far has been, "Thank you Mommy for bringing Hudson."

Hudson's first bath. He didn't enjoy it as much as Fayte did.

Speaking of Fayte, she's been so helpful with the new baby that we wanted to reward her with a father-daughter trip to Chuck-E-Cheese. Unfortunately, we chose to visit the location closest to our home...the sigh...inner-city location, where unless you're an extremely obese full-grown adult who enjoys cutting in front of children to cheat at a dirty, half-functioning skee-ball machine, you'd be better served going to a location in the 'burbs.

Despite all the people over 3 ft tall, that's not a shot of a Harrah's Casino.

Fortunately, Fayte didn't seem to notice that only a quarter of the games and rides were working (probably because of all the full-grown adults climbing on them to cheat). She was quite happy with the couple games she got to play and the fabulous eye patch and lollipop she was able to win! Arrrgh matey! Ye' next time, we will set sail for the Plano location.

HUDSON TYLER LE HAS ARRIVED

Little Mac arrived this morning at 6:09 AM weighing in at 8 lbs. 2 ounces and 20 and a half inches long. Another big baby, just like Fayte, but at least his head was much smaller. Speaking of head, he came out with a full head of thick luxurious curly brown hair! Mom and baby are doing very well and we'll post pix and updates later this week. Everyone who has visited so far thinks he's a splitting image of Mom. We'll let you judge for yourself once pix are uploaded later this week.

HUDSON WATCH 2008

We are under a Hudson Watch and the forecast calls for showers; baby showers! While we've been trying to go about our daily lives blocking out the fact that Hudson will be here any day now, we've been keeping ourselves busy with two things: nesting and baby showers.

Both of our workplaces were generous enough to throw us some fabulous showers and the V-Family hosted one at our home this weekend in Dallas. We are so grateful to all and had so much fun that we weren't able to snap enough photos. Really, here are the few that we did manage to get. Some of these were actually taken by Fayte.

Daddy's ad firm already wants to put him to work!

Cake balls! These are sooooo good.

And as far as the nesting instinct goes, we've been full speed ahead in trying to create the perfect home for Hudson. His new crib came in just in time and after a trip to Home Depot for some hardware, we were able to patch the parts of the old crib together to form a matching day bed for his room. Take a look:

And here's the matching day bed

We also gave this old bookcase new life with some cool wrapping paper. Cheap DIY job.

Here's the same trick on one of Fayte's bookcases.

While we were picking up the hardware for the daybed, we also picked up some peg board for 5 bucks. After painting it chalkboard green, it became the perfect organization item for Fayte's school area in our studio.

Well white rug, it was nice to know you.

Can't wait to add the fourth frame to the mantle!

Well, this should be the last post before the Le Unit becomes a 4-member group. The big day should be next Friday or sooner. Until then, it's Hudson Watch 2008. Wish us luck!

IT'S 112 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND YES I'M STILL PREGNANT

Although it's become unbelievably uncomfortable with the temperature usually still hovering around 99 degrees at bed time, we've been doing what we can around the house to make sure Hudson feels as comfy and cozy as he possibly can when he arrives. We're shooting for an end-of-the-month arrival, but now that it's been 9 months, it's really any day now. As you can tell from the little polaroid up there, he's a low-rider and he's been extremely active to boot. Perhaps its because his home has recently begun to experience earthquakes. In other words, the lovely Braxton Hicks contractions have already started. We'll keep you posted. Check back often as we'll be live-blogging the labor and delivery! (Kidding.)

The bassinet is ready to go!

And we've built a mobile to match his woodland themed walls.

We were pretty pumped to find this book in one of our old moving boxes.

And we were also suckers for this little guy.

Perhaps you've heard that we won a Jonathan Adler designed giraffe sconce from Apartment Therapy! Finally, some good luck this year.

Fayte sings a song to Hudson.

Fayte enjoying the new family-sized mid-century sofa. We ordered this way back before the lightning fiasco when we moved and it just now came in!

Not to be outdone by her brother, Fayte had to have some branches on her wall as well!
